From Darkness to Light
For years,
I wandered in darkness, lost in addiction, chained to the grip of opiates. I thought I had control, but in reality, the drugs controlled me. I was drowning, sinking deeper into a life of pain, shame, and hopelessness. I should have died many times, but God had other plans.
Looking back, I see His hand over my life even in the moments when I felt the most alone. Jesus never abandoned me. He saw my brokenness, my desperate cries for help, and instead of turning away, He reached out with grace, mercy, and love.
The turning point came when I realized that I couldn’t do this on my own. I had tried everything self-will, rehab, even sheer desperation but nothing lasted. It was only when I fully surrendered to Jesus, admitting my weakness and asking Him to take control, that my healing truly began.
Through Him, I found the strength to walk away from addiction. Through Him, I found hope when I thought there was none left. And through Him, I found my true purpose: to help others who are struggling just as I once was.
Today, I live in gratitude. I am not perfect, but I am redeemed. Every day is a reminder of God’s grace, and I thank my Lord and Savior for never giving up on me. If you are struggling, know this: you are not alone. There is hope, there is healing, and there is salvation in Jesus Christ.
If you need prayer or someone to talk to, reach out. You are loved more than you know.
